An Efficient ITA Algorithm to Solve Economic Load Dispatch with Valve Point Loading Effects

The economic load dispatch (ELD) is the online process for allocating the generation among the available generating unit to fulfil the load demand in such a way to minimize the total generation cost and to satisfy necessary constraints. This paper helps in solving ELD problem with an Improved TANAN's Algorithm (ITA). The main objective of this paper is to solve ELD valve point loading effects. ITA is a simple numerical search technique based on an improved parabolic TANAN function. Standard IEEE test systems have been taken for the validation of the proposed method and is compared various popular optimization methods.
