An Energy Efficient Novel Method for Android Devices Using Triple Code Point Multiplication Method in ECC

There are many applications in which it is necessary to transmit the secured information between mobile and internet-based services such as cloud infrastructure and m-commerce applications. Secured data transmission requires cryptographic algorithms to ensure it. While transmitting data through mobile, mobile's battery life plays the major role. Earlier research works in this area are based on only symmetric cryptographic algorithms and conventional Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) algorithms. Hence, it is necessary to improve a novel algorithm to speeding up the computation of running time which allows achieving the same level of security while keeping energy consumption low. It is found that existing algorithms are consuming more energy than the proposed algorithms. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient novel cryptographic algorithm in ECC which surpasses the conventional algorithms with respect to speed and energy. The proposed energy efficient algorithm can save up to 5% when compared with other two methods over ECC algorithm for 128 KB and 256 KB file size for 14 & 16 bits of key size.
