Performance Analysis on Direct Torque Controlled Induction Motor Drive with Parameter Variations

In this paper, a high performance induction motor drive controlled by Space Vector Modulation (SVM) based Direct Torque Control (DTC) is modelled and simulated using MATLAB/Simulink environment. The drive performance is studied for parameter variations. The main parameter which is influencing the performance of DTC based IM drive is its stator resistance. The stator resistance varies with temperature variations. The change in resistance introduces errors in the magnitude and phase position estimation of stator flux linkage and hence in electromagnetic torque estimation. In this paper the DTC based induction motor drive is simulated for various values of stator resistance and corresponding drive performance is studied using the electromagnetic torque response and locus of stator flux vector.
